As a former member of this site, I can confirm that it is indeed a SCAM! They post pictures of beautiful Russian/ Ukranian women who are dying to meet men like you. You then have to pay $8 to send her an email. If I woman sends you an email, or replies to yours, you have to pay $8 to read it. So if several women start corresponding with you, you can imagine how quickly the cost can run into the hundreds or thousands of dollars. You have no other way to maintain contact with the women, so you have to keep paying.
The dead give away that this is a scam is that when you send an email to one of the attractive ladies posted you will never hear from them. You will instead be sent emails from dozens of other women in her hometown, most of whom are much less attractive and not posted on the board. Why? Because the woman you emailed is just a model, and your letter has instead been sent to a local marriage agency that recieves half of your payment. So, if they can get you to correspond with other ladies, who may not really exist either, they can keep making a ****er of you at $8 per message sent or read.
Other proof, of the hundreds and hundreds of emails that were sent to me, EVERY SINGLE ONE was sent at some time between 9am and 5pm Russian time-- a time when marriage agencies are open for business and NOT a time when "educated, professional" women are at home in front of their computers.
If you do meet a woman who is very interested in you, she disappears when you talk of meeting her. The only chance you have to meet anyone is if you pay thousands upon thousands more to take one their over-priced Romance Tours.
My adice to anyone really wanting to meet Russian ladies, skip the internet-- it's too easy to SCAM with fake pics and letters. Schedule your own trip, hire an independent interpreter, and go to local marriage agencies where you can meet the ladies IN PERSON.

FYI- there are many other sites out there like Russianladies.com, GlobalLadies.com, and ElenasModels,com who all use the same scam format. Not sure who originated it, but it is profitable enough for many sites to exist.

I registered with anastasiaweb, and actually came across this scamfraudalert site after google sent me here. You see it took about 14 seconds to smell the fraud...as you've mentioned with the entire 8 bucks per email scam. Here's the kicker..I'll admit I was a couple whiskey and cokes shy of a coma when I registered with anastasia at 4am in the morning. The following day when I checked my email I had and email letting me know I had new mail at anastasia. I thought "Really? wow this must be a lonely girl" seeing how as I submited no photo and next to no real info. Upon logging in I found that there was more than one lonely lady...actually there were 258!! in 6 hours...yeah smells fishy.

Oh yeah.....and I forgot to mention BEAUTIFUL...I MEAN WOW!! just far beyond anything I've ever seen in person. I don't have low self esteem but it just seemed odd that amazing beauties like these would throw themselves at a man 6000 miles away in another country with no info and no photo...

I recently joined and bought credits through anastasia.com. I have met a nice lady where we have exchanged a few e-mails. Yes, it's costing me $12 per an e-mail round trip but so far it seems legitimate. I will keep people posted if things change.

It is funny but sad to see someone post a scammer alert and state no true deep facts that it is a scam. You are correcct on the costs of the credits to receive and send e-mails! BUT...... You are wrong on the time frames of the e-mails. NOT ALL women there have personal computers! If you have any real clue of the economy in Russia still, at least watch some television. The samegoes for China, and Columbia, etc... These people may have quality educations, but at the same time their salaries are terrible. Living conditions are just above poverty for most there! Again, YOU ARE CORRECT, on the cost of their romance tours, they are expensive. At least book your own trip there to face reality, and to see with your own eyes what is truth. I am sure you would say the same about New Orleans and Mississipi. It is easier to assume than to actually go and see with your own eyes.

I do thank you for your concerns of people getting scammed!!! But I will also be the first to tell you that I have been corresponding with a beautiful lady there for OVER 2 YEARS!!!! I have used their service and sent flowers, and guess what?? The photo, was her!! Also if you use their phone service to, it is expensive as well because of the interpreter, but you can also request her personal number diectly from her while onthis phone call! I am also going there this summer, to meet her in person, because after 2 years, it's time!
We as Americans can only dream of the morals that these women have, and we should be ashamed of what we have lost in only 40 years of time! Our parents were the last to stay true to the word "marriage"!

Can i just explain something.

The women that contact you work in an office and are PAID to write emails all day long. I know because I know someone here in England that pays Polish girls to talk to people on his site.

Well they cant, thats all paid for by Anastasiaweb. The reason why? because they want the girls to look as hot as possible so they can keep charging you to send them messages.

Please stop wasting your money theese crooks don't deserve it. They are making hundreds of thousands of dollars out of you and paying those Russian girls peanuts!

Then they take you to nightclubs and girls who are (you guessed it) PAID come and talk to you. Congratulations, you've just been had.

Man has this not sunk in yet. Get yourself a ticket and GO THERE by yourself, you don't need some stupid money grabbing dating site.
