It has come to my attention through a website that an investigation into and mounting class action against Dr Daniel Fleming, a cosmetic physician practising out of Brisbane, Australia. His business website is: http://www.breastimplantsaustralia.com/.

I closely monitor the state of breast implants and the surgeons who carry out such operations, and following the alert of investigations into Dr Daniel Fleming I conducted my own research. Through documents obtained, I can ascertain that Dr Fleming was investigated by by a government statutory agency for complaints by a former patient who experienced complications 4 years after implantation.

The crux of the complaint was that Dr Fleming did not warn of the risk of rupture to breast implants without stressor. Dr Fleming contended he did warn of the risk of passive rupture and that such warning was noted in his contemporaneous file notes. Dr Fleming also admitted to treading on sample implants during the consultation process - an action he continues to do.

The contradiction in treading on implants to demonstrate durability and advising patients that implants can rupture without stressor or other cause is readily apparent.

The investigation into Dr Fleming's practices was closed and he was not required to desist from such dubious demonstrations during consultation.

Other documents I've obtained reveal that the implant manufacturer's literature at the time Dr Fleming claimed to warn the plaintiff of passive rupture makes no mention of such risk. Again, the inherent contradiction that Dr Fleming could warn of a risk unknown to the manufacturer is without credibility.

The reason I bring this to the public attention is my firm belief that females considering breast implant surgery should be fully informed about the risks of both the product and the surgeon they select.

Dr Fleming has a high public profile. His website boasts that he performs more cosmetic breast implant surgeries than any other doctor on the east coast of Australia. For this reason alone, if no other, it is important that females considering using his services are aware of ALL the facts - not just the ones the doctor wishes to promote.

As an attorney, I am posting this thread in the interest of public safety and information.
