In reply to: BUYER BEWARE - Everyprice.com leaves bad taste by qi4all

They are set to come up with the lowest digital camera price in search engines, but don't believe it.I just ordered through them Fuji S9000 for $339.00, butthe last screen told me I had to call their 800 number to confirm the order. I did. BIG MISTAKE! They are staffed with salesman who could have worked for Enron. Usually I have sales resistance, but today failed so badly after hanging up I called customer service to cancel the order. I was switched to someone (Beelzebub?) who told me I would be charged 20% restocking (the order had been made seconds before this conversation, nothing had been shipped) and reported as a bad debt to credit agencies. This company should be put out of business! I asked the agent for a mailing address and he flatly refused! Do not do business with these people.

Bait and Switch!

Digital Expo requires you to call back to 'confirm' your order - this allows their sales people to try to sell you more things. I suppose this is expected. On my camera order he tried to sell me batteries and "fast" memory.

What is NOT expected is that you THEN learn the item you just bought was refurbished, not new. The website neither says nor implies that this is the case. Surprise! The salesman then suggested that since it was a refurbished and "probably scratched up" camera that I should get the new one instead, which sold for a higher price than most of the competitors' new camera prices.

I mentioned that if the camera was visibly scratched, I would be sending it back, to which he replied that there was a 20% restocking fee for returns.

I then cancelled my order. I only hope that the credit card does not get charged; I'll be specifically looking for that from these scammers.

www.Thedigitalexpo.com bait and switch, deceptive business practices Internet Internet

Company:www.Thedigitalexpo.com
Address:Thedigitalexpo.com
Internet
U.S.A.
Phone Number:

I was looking for a digital camera. This site had the lowest price. Since it was an old camera I wanted to make sure the camera was new not used. I called the sight and a very rude foreign sounding person confirmed it was new, the person I spoke with asked if I'd like to place an order. I said no and he hung up on me. I should have known then not to order. I placed the order online with my credit card and instead of processing the card I received a message telling me to call and confirm. I did this and was practically screamed at to buy accessories. I declined. The person then told me the camera I had ordered was refurbished, not new. I could buy the camera new for another 79.00. I told the person to cancel my order. He screamed *&*& into the phone and hung up on me. I called the bank, canceled my credit card and the transaction. This is a bait and switch scam!!! Not to mention if I hadn't closed the credit card I'm sure the site wouldn't have canceled the transaction. Can someone please investigate??
