We purchased the Freedom Plan thinking it was a great deal.. WRONG!! We brought our truck in to see what was wrong with it. We checked our book to make sure the repairs were covered. One of the 2 things were. The dealer called for approval and they said they were not covered. I then called Continental and read the part we needed right out of their book. They said it should be OK. I had the dealer call again, and they got same..Sorry this part is not covered. It needed to be replaced either way (brake calipers were bad). So I told them to start the next day so I can call Continental again. They again told me that it was covered and when I asked why they would not tell the dealer this, they said: well they never called us, and then: they mentioned everything but the caliper. When I spoke to someone higher up the next day they said it would be fine even though the work was done because of the 'mix up'. The dealer called again, and since the work was not pre-authorized, they couldn't help. So after sinking over $2000 for repairs and over $800 to Continental, we called to cancel. They said we could get a pro-rated refund. I sent my written cancellation and wouldn't you know.. they kept taking money out of our account. I called to confirm the cancellation date and it was 2 weeks before they took their payment. They said they would refund that amount in full. We just finally received the check for maybe 1/5 of the amount we've paid them..and I hope that last payment was not included, cuz then it's even less. I feel we should be entitled to almost a full refund since they screwed us with a claim and we only had them for about 5 months. I don't want to have to get a lawyer involved for obvious reasons. If anyone knows any way else to get them to refund us what they owe us, please let me know. Denise West Milford, New Jersey U.S.A.
