Cingular Wireless

Company
Cingular Wireless
Address:

U.S.A.
Phone Number:

Fax:

My contract was up on Feb 24, 2004. On March 4th of 2004 I personally went to the store and ask to pay my entire amount due and cancel my services.

The lady at the Cingular desk gave me a figure to clear my account. I wrote a check for that amount. My service had already been turned off and I did not want it renewed. That was communicated quite plainly to the lady.

Later I started getting a bill from Cingular. I sent a letter explaining that my account had been closed and paid in full. They responded that there was not any way the local office could have known my entire balance and the Cingular Representative at the desk gave me the wrong information.

With all the technology that exists today that does not seem like a valid statement or reason to keep on billing me.

Then they reported me to the three Credit Report Companies. I corresponded with and reported Cingular to the FCC and the Attorney General. Then the President of Cingular called. He was rude and belligerant. My advise is to use any wireless company except Cingular.

Re: Cingular Wireless

There are quite a number of complaints about Cingular business practices. I too recently switch to Cingular and have regreted making the switch.

Cingular Wireless Ripoff in their Contract Help! Ocala & Tampa Florida

I began service with Cingular for their 600 family share plan on March the 4th 2005. I termined my service two weeks later because of dropped calls and ported my numbers to Verizon Wireless. I termined with Cingluar within their 15 days policy. My bill for only two weeks of service is $647.89.

In their contract it stated that if I terminate within 15 days, I need to return the phones which I did and I would only be charged for service that I used which was hardly any since the service was horrible and I had dropped calls all the time.

I spoke with a manger named Terence Carter who submitted a form (CAF Form) to have my fees credited (two phones that I returned to them and the two activation fees). The form was submitted on the 29th of March. He said everything would be fine and I would be credited in 48 hours in which he would call me back - he did not.

I called again on March 6th and spoke with Beth who spoke with her manager. Another form was submitted to have my charges credited and she did call back and said everything was fine.

I am still being billed $647.89 because I ported the numbers; however, this is not in the contract with Cingular; therefore, I am not legally binded. When I spoke with Terence Carter - he knew about me porting the numbers and he submitted the form to have me credited, but I still have not been credited.

I have been bounced from one person to another, no one calls me back, and I will not pay for two weeks of terrible services and two phones that I have sent back. I am a graduate student and I travel a lot. I can't afford that price and I can't afford service that will not work.

I want to be credited for the two phones and the two activation fees, and whatever else I should be credited and was promised I would be credited and then I will pay the remainder of the charges.

Today, I spoke with another Cingular person named P. Laudermilk who read my file and said the form has been sumitted and that it may be two weeks. But Terrace Carter told me 48 hours and Beth told me 72 hours. It is hard to get first and last names because they talk too fast, and it should be docummented in the notes they have in their computer systems.

To add additional info to my complaint, I spoke with someone on May 27, 2005 named Ann Daniel who talked to Patricia Hun****er – the original person that filed my CAF form to have these charges credited. Patricia was to call me back, and she never did. On April 29th 2005, I spoke with Chelsea Forrester who stated the CAF form was in progress and it should be complete by the end of that month. I was assured I would be credited. Today, July 2005, I received another bill from Cingular threatening to turn me over to a collection place in an attempt to hurt my credit.

As of now, I do not know what else to do. Please help me get my account credited as promised. Oh - and I have also filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. Maybe they can help??

I too have had a bad experienced with Cingular. I switched from sprintpcs to cingular and have not been happy with the service. It's all a marketing ploy to get you to signed up and then they just slap you in the face with all the hidden charges.

Furthermore, they are opening several stores or having sub contractors or independent store sell their products. You don't see a independent Sprintpcs store. Cingular is bad folks.

Re: Cingular Wireless

Almost exact same thing happened to me while in college when I really couldn't AFFORD for it to happen.

Now my husband's business contract is with them, so we are 'forced' to use them and have not had as many serious problems. I would like to add that their company sales staff (phone salespeople) are seriously unethical. We added a phone line, and he totallydiscregarded my instructions and sent me some expensive package with a totally new account, when we were just adding a line to our existing account. It took 2 months to get the phone sent back (just to get an identical one sent back to us) and get the account settled with numerous phone calls to many different departments. Persistence pays, but it was extremely frustrating to deal with.
