A New Chinese Scam Using Real Coins by: g048406( 613Feedback score is 500 to 999) Top 1000 Reviewer 17 out of 17 people found this guide helpful. Guide viewed: 430 times Tags: chinese | fraud | coins | Bust | scam This is a most disturbing development. The Chinese scammers are now using a new type of scam that uses pictures of REAL US coins. These auctions have pictures of REAL US coins, a starting price of .99 cents and use a 1 day listing. What's worse, is that the sellers are listed as being located in California. These sellers sell dozens of items for .01 cent to Chinese buyers in an effort to build up bogus positive feedbacks. The feedback is made private so the buyers will only see the positive feedback score, and not what items were purchase. A couple of days later these sellers, now empowered with 20-30 positive feedbacks, list 20 or so coin items. All the coins are related ie one seller listed all bust dollars only, another seller listed all $5 Bust gold coins only etc. These items all sell for about 10% of their actual worth, and the buyers think they are getting a great deal. A few days later, Ebay finally realizes that the seller is a crook, and NARU's the seller. Unfortunately for the buyer, he has already paid, and will probably never recover their money. Here are the 6 charactoristics: 1. private auctionUPDATE: These crooks are now using Arizona locations as well as California. They are also using dormant ebay accounts (accounts that had never before bought or sold coins before) Below are some examples of these fraudulent auctions: Fraudulent Trade Dollar coin auction: see item #300158914744 Fraudulent $10 Gold Indian coin auction: see item #160160822324 Fraudulent $3 Gold coin auction: see item #250162232330 Fraudulent $5 Bust Gold coin auction: see item #120144719795 Fraudulent $10 Gold Liberty coin auction: see item #320149240845 Fraudulent Trade Dollar coin auction: see item #280150449076 Fraudulent Bust Dollar coin auction: see item #250155376858 Guide ID: 10000000004221159Guide created: 08/17/07 (updated 10/23/07) |

China Scam Report * Must Read Sellers* Posted Jul-18-07 23:26:03 PDT I am sure you all have been getting spam from these Chinese Electronic W****sale Companies in the last few months. We as a company do due business with companies in China but only the ones that we have personally vested in China. I have live and worked in China my wife runs our ebay account and she is from China. I am an ex Military Intelligence Officer. I am going to help you fellow ebay sellers out. My wife and I have checked out the companies that have been sending spam. We have sent them all a letter about what we believe they are up to and to prove to us that are a legal company in China. We ask them to send a copy in their company name the office Chinese Trading licensees that you must have to send goods out of China. We also ask for any references of other ebay sellers or other business out of china that they do bossiness with now. Our web site designer that we use for our own web sites investacated their web sites and other items. He has come up with this report. Most of all the websites are made my the same person or company. He can tell by looking at ther html codes. Like fingerprints. Also many of the as my wife would know are all in the same area of Beijing and soon are even using the same address. Also we found out most of them are all using the same Bank Branch. Bank of China in the same area. Also most all the sites have been made within the last 6 months. Now I have lived and worked in china and understand how Chinese people think. They do think that most westerners are not very cleaver and smart to get this scam and I have found out many ebay sellers have already been scammed and ebay is not going to do anything about it as we see. None off them have a paypal account but Advertise the logo. Paypal should do something about that. They all want you to sent Western Union or bank Transfer. This way nothing you can do. They all use hotmail as an email. Rule 1 if you have a web site uses your web site address. We have contacted 22 of these companies. I am sure there is a few more out there. And they reason why you see so many is very simple. Chinese are monkey see monkey do. They now the scam is working from the Beijing work force so they all want to do it. Sellers do not fall for it. There are many good Chinese companies in China but also a few bad ones. If you like doing business in China like we do it is always best to go china and see for yourself or get a recommendations from another company or a company that provides a service to check out companies. You can find them on the web. So This is your warning Sellers. Be carfull. Here is the list that we believe are Scamming. Have a Nice Ebay Day Susan and Jon P.S. If any sellers is doing business with any of these companies please contact us and leave a blog so others will know ASAP. www.happy-gw.com x 管理员停止 x www.eecc21.com x www.wellgw.com x online-elecshop--www.bestseler-world.com x www.seatrade123.com x Welcome To Our Website x Welcome To Our Website x 管理员停止 x 无记录状态 x 无记录状态 x www.luck-order.com www.mooninheart.com x www.bobsel.com x Welcome To Our Website x www.nnb2.com x www.sell-king.com x www.hecuo.com x htrade-cn668.com--home x Welcome To Our Website x eBay Blogs - China Scam Report * Must Read Sellers* www.fairynethome.com x Welcome To Our Website |

Laptop Sales Fraud Chinese sellers - Dell, IBM, toshiba Chinese sellers are becoming adept at "manufacturing" seemingly trustworthy EBay identities, in order to sell Dell, Toshiba, Compaq, and other high-value counterfeit or fraudulent laptops and other electronics to ****ers in the UK, EU, and USA. To spot a 'manufactured' seller identity, look at their feedback. The seller will have 10 or 11 quick transactions that all took place between different individuals in China, each for a small, inexpensive item, and each posts highly positive feedback (in english of course). In many cases, the Ebay ID's used to manufacture the positive feedbacks all dissapear a short time later - ie they are all 'no longer a registered user'. All the ten or 11 sales are for cheap chinese items without brand names, such as 10 small jade figures. Thus, with more than 10 feedbacks obtained, the seller has a solid '100% positive feedback' reputation that allows them to dupe the unsuspecting buyer. With more than 10 feedback they also qualify to begin listing "buy it now" type sales. After these first 10 or 11 local transactions, which are small ifor a few dollars each, then presto! All of a sudden the seller lists one or two expensive items for sale to ****ers in the West. Mostly these are Dell, Toshiba, Compaq, or similar high-value electronic items for hundreds, or even thousands of dollars. The scam is that this item will never be delivered - after the payment is made, the seller will disappear. See, for example the seller grrrrgg65, which perfectly fits this pattern. (Update: grrrrgg65 disappeared shortly after I wrote this guide) In a new twist, some of these scammers now list their location as outside China (see for example artyr0_1ej50 who lists his location as France, but his profile is otherwise identical to the Chinese scammers) See current seller btsofng - who sold 10 items to chinese buyers (one item was a pair of scissors, another a postcard) for a few cents each. btsofng then got 10 positive feedbacks from his all-chinese buyers (the item description was 100% in chinese, so why is the feedback in english?). Now, btsofng has suddenly started selling $3,000 dollar Toshiba laptops. To the inattentive buyer, the 100% positive feedback is a sign the seller can be trusted, right! Wrong! Early on there will be no feedback from anyone except from these small, probably sham transactions. Then you will see some negatives from USA customers as soon as they realize their money is gone forever. By the time more than a one or two negatives have been posted, the seller has already discarded the "tainted' eBay identity and moves on to another. By the way, this scam is also being used to sell high-value fake designer wares, such as Gucci, Chanel, and the rest. Beware! Guide ID: 10000000001367904Guide created: 07/09/06 (updated 10/24/07) |
