John Beck's Free & Clear Real Estate Complaints Madeleine writes: I have been a victim of a breach of contract by the John Beck's L.L.C., Mentoring of America. A representative/executive of his mentoring business, known as "Lorenzo", stated in a telephone conversation, that if I invested a certain sum of money, I would recover the entire sum invested in the program, within an 8 to 10 weeks period or the entire monies invested would be refunded to me. This never happened, despite numerous attempts to recover my investment, due to the false promise made by this representative. The representative also promised that his people would work with my credit card company to secure an interest rate of between 5%-7%. This promise never happened either. luckily I have a witness to these conversations between myself and the representative. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, who replied that John Beck's mentoring programs have an unsatisfactory record with them due to "unanswered complaints". I have been in contact with the Department of Commerce- Consumer Protection Division in Utah. Anyone who has a complaint about any of the John Beck's mentoring programs should write to: Investigator Ao Pauga State of Utah Department of Commerce Consumer Protection Division 160 East 300 South Box 146704 Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-6704 http://www.infomercialscams.com/john..._and_clear.htm |

John Becks Coaching Seminar Scam ripoff-$12,500 for Seminar and worthless mentoring Provo Utah *Consumer Suggestion ..Shoveling Bags Of Gold, While Delivering Bags Of Cow Dung. Company John Beck's Coaching Seminar Scam Address: 406 W 5050 N Provo Utah 84604 U.S.A. Phone Number: 800-266-5664 Fax: I bought the "free and easy" tapes to learn how to buy tax-lien certificates. One month later, Dean Walker, from John Becks office (really a boiler room scam artist) called and interviewed me over the phone for over 1 hour to see if I had what it takes to receive special coaching. He said that John Beck only wanted to work with a few highly intelligent guru's who were coachable in his field and I would receive "hands on" training from the guru himself. I answered all his questions (he made it seem so legitimate) and he guaranteed that I would make back my investment in 90 days with their help. I signed up for the deluxe package -over $12,500 which includes a 2 day seminar in Las Vegas. The coaching has been a joke and haven't earned a penny nor have I learned enough to try out their methods (blindly buying properties on the public "Bid for Assets" web-site. I was told all I have to do is work with a real estate agent in California (never gave me the name of who this ghost-agent is) and bid on these properties on line (I live thousands of miles away in Illinois). When I asked how to dispose of these properties I was told I could also sell them on-line (without seeing them --as long as the trusted "agent" could confirm that the property was in good shape. I stopped after 5 useless sessions and am not interested in the Vegas conference (I'm afraid of what I would say to "Guru" Beck if he showed up at this conference--of course I would have to pay for the trip out there as well as the hotel and I have no interest in going or wasting more money. I wish there was some way of getting some of my investment back but was told "all sales are final--including this conference" which I have no interest in attending. I spent 30 minutes arguing with their customer service dept. without any luck--wish someone out there could give me some advise. I have learned a valuable lesson and am still involved with real-estate on my own. Bought a foreclosure home that my group (sister, brother-in-law and wife are working on to recoup some of my losses--this was bought on my own with no help from the John Beck mentoring "fiasco"---Any suggestions would be appreciated. Advertising / Deceptive Submitted: 12/6/2003 4:57:30 PM Modified: 3/15/2005 9:44:01 PM John Becks Amazing Profits Misleading deceptive fraudulent coerced conned ripped off scammed jacked Burbank California *UPDATE ..The Free And Clear infomercial that airs late nights and very early mornings is both deceptive and misleading Company John Beck's Amazing Profits Address: P.O. BOX 3685 Burbank California 91504 U.S.A. Phone Number: 888-9098168 Fax: ****o to all out there, My name is Reid and I am writing to inform everyone about all the deceptive infomercials out there. Please don't ever fall victim to the company or companies that are selling the John Beck free and clear real estate program. The infomercial is very deceiving in many ways. For instance, nothing is mentioned in the infomercial to the millions of unsuspecting victims about having to invest thousands of dollars into this bogus mentoring program in order to "supposedely" succeed. The infomercial preys on everyone with little or no knowledge of real estate investing and wants people to believe that all that is needed to succeed in their program is the nominal investment of $59.98+ shipping and handling. NOT TRUE!! DON'T DO IT!! In a few weeks if you are lucky enough to even receive your package through the mail (many don't) you are instructed to call a toll free number, when you are ready to get started. The salesperson will then take down your number and have someone else return yor call. They do this so that people will think the offer is legitimate. Then the salesman will start with things like "we would like you to be our next success story" or "we want you to appear in our next infomercial" or "I wanna see your story on my desk within the next few weeks" or something to that tune. To make a very long story short, the information you receive for the thousands of dollars you invest is very insufficient and unsatisfactory. It is impossible to succeed in investing with the limited information you'll receive for your thousands of dollars. The company does not send people a contract(s) and makes it really difficult for someone to get a refund. They very rarely answer their phones, but if by chance they do, the person that you're interested in speaking with is either in a meeting or away from his desk (laughing his ass of under his desk) and wont even make an attempt to return your call. Also, I want people to take notice that the very few positive things that are said about the company or the program is by former employees and or it's affiliates. Weired huh? Once you're in the program your "so called" coach will hopefully call you haphazardly as scheduled (just go through the motions)in hopes that your disputing rights expires. I am really angry at how these fraudulent companies are constantly allowed to prey on the unsuspecting public and take advantage of sincere people mostly only interested in making an honest living. The worst part of it is the fact that they are able to blatantly lie in order to sell their products and or sevices. The B.B.B? This service is far too after the fact. Only after thousands or even millions of people have complained about a company is when the B.B.B is of any use. In conclusion I would like to say to each and every visitor to this site that if a product or sevice is as good as the infomercial claims, it would not be necessary for these companies to make such a long and deceiving commercial glamorizing it's product or service. Think about it, Dell, Budweiser, Sony, Dodge, Wall Mart, Circuit City along with the thousands of other legitimate companies have absolutely no use for a glamorized half hour commercial where they're allowed to blatantly lie to move their products and services. I wholeheartedly believe that there will come a day when everyone who watches T.V. can and will automatically associate infomercials with scams. Mentoring Of America - John Becks Amazing Profits Convinced 91-year-old father to approve credit card for about $6500.00 by phone ripoff Van Nuys American Fork Utah *Consumer Suggestion ..Hang In There Paul And Get Your Grandfathers Money Back! Company John Beck's Amazing Profits Address: 752 East 1180 South American Fork Utah 84003 U.S.A. Phone Number: 888-461-9029 Fax: My father is 91 and hard of hearing. He was persuaded by the TV ads and called "John Beck's Amazing Profits". Subsequently he was called repeatedly. He finnally approved a transaction of about $6500.00. I have cancelled his credit card. (I have Power of Attorney for him.) John Beck's Amazing Profits promises a full return, but their tactics are unreliable, requiring a signature of a "refund agreement" and claimng that "another department" handles cancellation of funds. I am actively seeking a dispute with the credit card. It has a pending charge that has not been processed, but I assume it will be processed, since my father also signed for materials received, which I am returning promptly. I talked only briefly with a "customer support" person, and John Beck, Senior called me. (If you believe that, you deserve to sign up for this.) Say nothing to them and follow good legal advice in communicating with them for refund or cancellation of charges. My opinion is that they are experts at sounding (and may even have convinced themselves that) they are legitimate. They will try to make you feel quilty as though they are not really that bad. They convinced my elderly father that they could help him make great money with their scam. I will pursue all avenues available to expose them and to report them to legal authority. No legitimate TV station should broadcast their advertisement. They tried to prey on my 91 year-old father. Paul Vacaville, California U.S.A. This is disgusting on its FACE http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff156862.htm |
