This article contains a graphic description of images the State Bureau of Investigation says it found in charging an Asheville man with sexual exploitation of a child. Asheville The case against an Asheville man charged with swapping pictures of children engaged in sex acts started with the discovery of obscene images posted to a Yahoo file-sharing group called I_love_em_2. That prompted the Internet services company to report what it had found to the Cyber Tipline operated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which then notified law enforcement authorities. State Bureau of Investigation agents traced the images to an e-mail account belonging to Andrew Douglas Reed, according to a warrant on file in the Buncombe County Courthouse. The arrests demonstrate the ease with which people can share pornographic images of children over peer-to-peer networks as the technology has developed in recent years, and the increasing sophistication used by law enforcement to bring charges in child pornography cases. According to the warrant authorizing a search of Reeds home at 26 Dogwood Road in Asheville, SBI agents determined his Charter e-mail account was used to post 169 images and three movies containing child pornography on file-sharing networks between Jan. 13, 2004, and May 9, 2005.
