County police warn of lotto scam letter

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is warning citizens about yet another scam. This one involves cashing checks fromThe International Lotto Corp., officers said.
At least one resident received a letter from Milestone Financial Corp. indicating that the recipient would get a lump sum payout of $175,000 as part of the International Lotto Corp. A check in the amount of $3,850 was enclosed in the letter, drawn on the Saxon Mortgage Service Inc., Fort Worth, Texas.
Instructions in the letter are that the recipient should contact a Mike Anderson at a telephone number listed in the letter in order to process and pay the administration fees and claim their winnings. The letter had a Canadian postage stamp on it and had been processed through the Canadian mail system.
Detective Lt. Jon VanVactor said this is a scam and the checks being sent are fraudulent. Anyone receiving the checks should contact his or her local police department.

Something really need to be done about it and quick! I got a sweepstakes letter from NATIONAL AWARDS COMMISSIONS! Stating that I need to follow instructions on the letter for to win 1 million dollars! If I have won 1 million just take the money out of the money I won! They are idiots and can't even lie straight! They told me to send them $11.89 to secure a premium delivery! What! a premium delivery just mail the freakin check if I won, and oh wait take the 11.49 out! That's fine it won't hurt! I LOOKED THIS ADDRESS UP ON SEARCH AND THE COMPANY NAME THEY HAD OVER TEN TO FIFTEEN COMPLIANTS SAYING THAT SOME ISSUES WERE RESOLVED BUT DON'T BE FOOLED THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST SITTING AROUND MAILING FRAUD TELLING YOU TO SEND $11.49 TO WIN OVER A MILLION DOLLARS OR TAKE A PAYMENT OPTION OF $33,334.00 ANNUALLY FOR 30 YEARS OR A LUMPSUM OF $555,000.00! They are mailing the papers from one address but want you to send your money to a different one! a PO BOX that is! Why would a company have a PO BOX for they mail! They are getting rich off of fraud just taking everybody 11.49 they can! Be looking for this mail and don't respond or send your money! It have on the paper no purchase neccessary to win but whats the $11.49 for! I truly don't get it, papers are mailed from Post Office Box 219800 Kansas City, MO 64121 if you would like to check up on them or file a compliant go to search anywhere on your desk top and type in They name: National Awards Commission and the address thats provided!
