CAUTION:SurplusAlert.com

CAUTION!!!!!!
This a Work-At-Home program. You buy Surplus Goods and sell on ebay, your web-site, and etc. That part may be fine.
My Experience: You are invited for a FREE TRIAL. Which I opted to do. I also chose to get the "info packet" which I had to give my banking info. I received the package with "more information" and called the next day and cancelled the trial. I explained this was not what I was looking for. I was assured by the person I talked with that I was well within the trial time and that all would be stopped. In February and March they hit my checking account for $ 24.95 a monthly fee you pay if you stay a member. They did credit my account back for the fees. However, my bank assessed my account for NSF fee $ 33.00 each time, for a total of $ 66.00. (I don't keep large balances) The bank will not relieve the $ 66.00 and Surplus Alert doesn't want to give me the $ either. I have filed a complaint with BBB. I did talk with a young lady on 4/5/05 and she sent me an e/m confirming my cancellation of the account and a confirmation number. She explained this is what should have been done on my first cancellation call.
I'm urging CAUTION when dealing with this company. Be sure and read closely the information on returns, restocking, etc. The fees are horrible!

SurplusAlert.com fraudulent trial membership signup, ripoff! Internet

Address:
SurplusAlert.com

I ordered a "free" Auction Freeway Success Kit, which you only pay shipping. After I made the purchase of the shipping from my debit card, the next web page showed a 4-step plan to follow to get the most out of the kit. After the 2nd step it said a 14 day trial was in effect where afterwards it would bill my card for $29.95 per month. This billing would come from SurplusAlert.com. Nothing was mentioned about this company or a trial period prior to my ordering the Auction Freeway Success Kit.

I immediately contacted this company by phone @ 1-877-546-0467 and got the run around, but I stayed persistent. I eventually got them to disclose to me how to cancel the membership. The web address to do this is: www.surplusalert.com/myaccount.php?cmd=cancel.

Interestingly, when I submitted my cancellation, they responded that they could reduce their billing to $9.95 per month. I cancelled and printed out the page for my records. I receieved a cancellation comfirmation number in my email, which I also printed out for record.

Re: CAUTION:SurplusAlert.com

I recently tried the "free trial offer" for this internet at home business. I had not even received the "free information" when I discovered they had charged my account for $29.95 for member services. Of course, I called them to cancel and was assured that it woiuld be credited back to my account and given a confirmation number via email. But alas, this month, I was chrged another $29,95 fee for the Free service. I called again and was told that I had succeeded once again in cancelling the service and would be credited the fees. I am in doubt that it has been credited but I am having any further charges stopped through my bank and paying the stop payment fee. You see, these people do not only continue to take money from you, they will change the amount they take out, if they are allowed to, by your bank. Like instead of $29.95, they will draft $29.94. It is sad that people are allowed to do business in such a way on the internet. Be aware that AOL and Netscape have done the exact same thing to me, changing the amount they withdraw to try and hide the theft. It's pure and simple fraud, if you ask me, to offer a service free and then to charge for that for months after it is cancelled.
